Desert Island Songs
Starting at the end of 2008, I began "scrobbing" the tracks I play at home and work with LastFM. The major intent of this was to have a software independent means of tracking my favorite songs. I use the "Loved" button on my playlists for the stuff I play that I like the best. Unlike most people I listen to albums, so I listen to stuff I "like" but not necessarily "love" as a result.
This list is inspired by BBC Radio DJ John Peel, who had a box of 45 RPM singles that he kept separate from the 100,000 pieces of vinyl and CDs in his collection. Thanks to the digital age however I can make my collection known and I can add to it more easily. I keep a separate folder with these tracks copied into it as well so I can easily burn a couple discs or download it to my phone. I also have a list of Desert Island Albums with my favorite albums.
There are 6840 songs currently listed. This list is not updated very often, because I'm spending more time finding new music now.
